A merger between photo finishers Eastman Kodak Co. and Colorcraft Corp. is aimed at making the firms more competitive, and is not an effort to force other companies out of the industry, a federal appeals court ruled Monday. The U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals reversed a preliminary injunction granted to Phototron Corp. that blocked the Kodak-Colorcraft merger. A lower court ruled Feb. 22 that Phototron had standing to challenge the merger, and that the merger between Kodak and Colorcraft could substantially reduce competition in the wholesale photo-finishing market.
