RADIO
Tony award-winning actor Ian McKellen, whose one-man show “Ian McKellen Acting Shakespeare,†was a resounding success in 1976, will celebrate the Bard again in a radio program pegged to April 23--the generally accepted birthday for the 16th-Century playwright. In the program, McKellen exchanges viewpoints with Academy Award-winning actor F. Murray Abraham (“Amadeusâ€) and Joseph Papp, producer of the New York Shakespeare Festival. Also included is a segment with Sting, who discusses his use of Shakespeare in his lyrics. The program will air in hourlong installments on KCRW-FM (89.9) on April 18 and April 25.
