TV Movies Spawn Homeless Hot Line

Two television movies that aired this week dealing with hunger and poverty prompted the United Way to set up a toll-free 800 telephone number to dispense information on area emergency food and shelter providers.
By calling (800) 453-7000, individuals may receive information about food banks and pantries, shelters and advocacy organizations that need or provide help. The number will be active for three months.
The movies were NBC’s “A Place at the Table” and ABC’s “God Bless the Child.”
