Former South Korean President Chun Doo Hwan paid a half-hour courtesy call on President Reagan at the White House, and White House spokesman Marlin Fitzwater said afterward that Reagan asked him “what it was like to be retired.†Fitzwater said Chun replied that he is “still in transition.†Chun was succeeded by Roh Tae Woo on Feb. 25 after a 7-year term, and Reagan leaves office next January after eight years in office. Chun will be in the United States until April 10.
