Colombian Airliner Missing

CUCUTA, Colombia — A Boeing 727 jetliner carrying 135 passengers on a domestic flight was reported missing today in northern Colombia, the Civil Aeronautics Agency said.
The state-run Avianca airlines jet left the city of Cucuta, about 250 miles northeast of Bogota, at 10:16 a.m. PST, the agency said. It said the plane was headed for the Caribbean port city of Barranquilla, on the northern tip of Colombia. The normal air travel time between the cities is 40 minutes. Barranquilla is about 250 miles northwest of Cucuta.
