By the Numbers
Brian Forst’s defense of the bean counters was far less compelling than a mother’s explanation of cauliflower’s nutritional value.
His most earnest plea is for us to stop bad-mouthing the numbers runners lest such talk divert the best and brightest kids away from that line of work. Oh, puleeez.
It seems that Forst, like many a board of directors, was seduced by the notion that one who deals with something can control it. Want to make money? Then put the money boys in charge, right?
Give me the likes of H. Ross Perot or Lee Iaccoca over any dozen bean counters Forst can muster.
