Local News in Brief : Yorba Linda : Preschool Damaged by Fire Set in Breezeway

A Yorba Linda preschool was damaged early Friday by a fire that was deliberately set in a breezeway, fire officials said.

The fire was discovered at 1:47 a.m. at the Village Preschool, 18052 Imperial Ave., by a police officer patrolling the area, a fire spokeswoman said. No one was inside the school, she said.

The blaze, which was set in a walkway between two buildings, caused about $20,000 in damage to the outside of the buildings and the attic, she said. The spokeswoman would not say what was used to start the fire.
