Conflict in the Occupied Territories
The editorial discusses the free press in Israel during the current crisis and concludes that an Israeli news blackout could cause Israeli democracy to lose something that it might not easily be able to recover. The editorial misses the point completely. Israel is a nation at war. News censorship is a normal action taken during war by all nations, including democracies. Israel is committing political suicide by maintaining a peacetime luxury, freedom of the press, during wartime.
