Four people were wounded in a drive-by shooting Thursday night as they were standing outside a liquor store in South-Central Los Angeles.
Two suspected gang members were injured, one critically. A man and a woman described as innocent bystanders received minor injuries, according to residents and business owners. The identities of the four victims were not available.
A police broadcast said a late-model Cadillac driven by a female pulled up to a crowd of about 10 people standing outside the Jim Brady liquor store in the 9400 block of South Avalon Boulevard. Occupants of the Cadillac then pointed handguns and fired 16 to 20 rounds, according to witnesses.
“I heard the shots and I went outside and I saw people lying there bleeding and other people trying to help them,†said store owner Jason Chung. “I called the police and got my gun and went back outside. Most of those people were my customers. They were just waiting to use the telephone.â€
