An electrical switch failure Sunday night knocked out power temporarily to 2,050 Southern California Edison customers in Costa Mesa.
The power was knocked out when an underground switch on Baker Street west of Bristol Street blew at 8:07 p.m., Edison spokesman Gene Carter said.
Power was restored to all but 50 customers within an hour. Carter said power for the remaining customers, all commercial businesses closed at the time, would be restored before dawn.
The outage affected residential and commercial customers in an area south of the San Diego Freeway and east of Harbor Boulevard.
