City Administrator of Norwalk Plans to Resign by Mid-May

NORWALK — Richard Streng, city administrator for the past two years, announced last week that he plans to resign in mid-May.
“I’m just wanting to retire. That’s basically why I’m doing it,” said Streng, who has worked for the city since 1957, when he started as a clerk.) Before assuming the city’s top post, Streng was a special assistant to City Administrator Raymond Gibbs, who resigned in the face of waning council support.
Streng, 56, says he wants to devote his time to building a house in Valley Center in San Diego County, where he plans to move.
