Bruce Edwards has rejoined AST Research as chief financial officer and senior vice president. The Irvine-based computer products company also named Bruce Cassell to the newly created position of senior vice president of U.S. sales. Edwards originally joined AST in 1983 as vice president and was promoted to CFO within several months. After leaving the company in 1986, he went to Scientific Computer Systems, San Diego, where he held the position of vice president of finance and administration. During the interim, Safi Qureshey, co-founder and president of AST, was acting CFO. Before joining AST, Cassell was vice president, sales and marketing, for Dest Corp. in Milpitas, Santa Clara County. He has also held sales management positions for IBM, Compaq and ITT Information Systems.
