Limited’s profit rose 3% to $235.2 million in 1987, but the Columbus, Ohio-based retailer noted that earnings fell 28% to $63.3 million for the fourth quarter. The company blamed the results on poor performances by two divisions, Lerner and Lane Bryant, and slowed consumer demand for women’s apparel. Sales for the year rose to $3.53 billion from $3.14 billion.
