Oceanside 48, Ramona 37--Ramona tried to slow the tempo, but Oceanside pulled away in the final two minutes at Oceanside. Alvin McGee had 20 points and 9 rebounds, and Donald Barner added 13 points and 10 rebounds for Oceanside (12-7, 8-2). Chad Nelson had 15 points for Ramona (11-13, 7-4).
Escondido 57, San Marcos 53 OT--Chris Heinschel made 3 of 4 free throws in the final minute for No. 10 Escondido at home. Center Brooks Barnhard hadd 22 points and 17 rebounds for Escondido (15-5, 8-2). San Marcos is 3-12, 3-7.
El Camino 90, Rancho Buena Vista 64--Scott Oatsvall scored 24 points and Lee Cobb added 21 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks for No. 5 El Camino (16-4, 9-1). Dave Hill had 15 points, including 4 three-pointers, for El Camino. Todd Fellars led Rancho Buena Vista (2-15, 2-8) with 15 points.

Patrick Henry 49, Serra 38--Terrence Hamilton scored 18 points for host Patrick Henry (13-7, 5-2). Bart Brandenburg added 11 points and 8 rebounds for Patrick Henry, which led, 27-10, at halftime. Keith Ladue scored 12 points for Serra (6-12, 1-6).
Point Loma 77, Mira Mesa 65--Beau Pack scored 22 points and four others were in double figures for host Point Loma (12-10, 3-4). Jeff Johnson had 15 points, John Louis and Anthony Shelton had 12, and Bob Brasher added 11 for Point Loma, which outscored Mira Mesa, 25-14, in the third quarter to open a 60-43 lead. David Lee scored 25 points for Mira Mesa (9-10, 1-6) and Tal Miller added 21.
Madison 69, Morse 51--Jeff Alexander had 16 points and 15 rebounds, but Madison Coach Jim Thompson said the 10 shots he blocked and the 4 charging fouls he drew were more important. Madison led at the end of the third quarter, 40-32. But because Morse could not shoot inside against Alexander, its players were forced outside, and No. 3 Madison (19-2, 7-0) outscored Morse, 29-19, in the fourth. Robby Robinson had 16 points and 20 rebounds for Madison, which had 54 rebounds. Andre Mitchell scored 16 for Madison, which made 9 of 10 free throws in the fourth period. Willie Davis led Morse (12-8, 4-3) with 13 points.
CITY WESTERN
Kearny 61, Mission Bay 49--Randy Robinson scored 28 points and Chris Ortiz added 13 for No. 6-ranked Kearny (18-4, 5-2) at home. Robinson hit two three-pointers as Kearny opened a 33-17 halftime lead. Kevin Ahsmuhs scored 14 points to lead Mission Bay (9-13, 4-3) and Pete Wilson added 11. Mission Bay and Kearny were both tied for first with La Jolla before the game.
La Jolla 73, Clairemont 52--Sean Rodgers scored 25 points in leading La Jolla (13-7, 5-2) over host Clairemont (5-15, 1-6). La Jolla broke open a close game by outscoring Clairemont, 22-4, in the second quarter. Ray McDavid had 20 points and 7 steals for Clairemont.

GROSSMONT
Mount Miguel 51, Monte Vista 50--Anthony Rivera scored 20 points for Mount Miguel (8-11, 6-7). After trailing, 31-20, at halftime, Monte Vista came back to tie the game at 48 with three minutes to play. Mount Miguel went ahead, 51-48, after a layup by Robert Griffith and a free throw by Rivera. Monte Vista (8-10, 5-7) cut the lead to one, 51-50, with 48 seconds on a shot by Scott Winne. Rivera missed the front end of a one-and-one, giving Monte Vista a chance to win. But Winne missed a shot with eight seconds left. After a rebound, James Fraser’s 24-footer bounced off the rim at the buzzer. Griffith scored 18 for Mount Miguel. Sophomore Joe McNaull scored 14 for Monte Vista.
Grossmont 93, El Cajon Valley 51--Lance Williams scored 26 points to lead Grossmont at home. Tom Aland scored 18, and Kevin McIntyre added 17 for Grossmont (11-9, 7-6). Ken Davis scored 21 for El Cajon Valley (1-17, 0-12).
Valhalla 90, Granite Hills 77--Rafid Kiti, a 6-foot 5-inch junior guard, scored 46 points for host Valhalla. Kiti hit 19 field goals, including one three-point shot, as Valhalla stormed to an early lead and weathered a late Granite Hills rally.

PALOMAR
Poway 74, San Dieguito 58--Poway, the county’s fourth-ranked team, continued its streak of hot shooting at San Dieguito. Dave Delaney scored 22 points, Adam Jones 19 and Ty Nichols 17 to lead Poway (16-4, 7-2). Delaney and Nichols combined to make 7 three-pointers, 6 in the first half as Poway took a 38-28 lead. Jeff Zevely led San Dieguito (8-12, 2-6) with 21 points and Jack Minger added 17.

METRO CONFERENCE
Hilltop 57, Marian 46--Mark Dirksen had 26 points and 20 rebounds for Hilltop (11-12, 7-3). Jon Moore added 11 points and 11 rebounds. Pat Mendez led Marian (4-13, 3-6) with 27 points.

CITY EASTERN
Madison 63, Morse 23--Kim Lester scored 22 points to lead three Madison players in double figures at Madison. June Andrews added 17 for Madison (11-7, 3-4) and Kathy Weathers, the county’s fifth-leading scorer, had 15. Morse is 7-10, 0-7.
CITY CENTRAL
Crawford 52, Lincoln 51--Dina Rocha made her only points of the game count as she hit two free throws with four seconds left as Crawford beat Lincoln (10-4, 4-2) in a battle for first place. Rocha replaced Terri Butler, who fouled out with 2 1/2 minutes remaining. Butler finished with a game-high 21 points. Erica Kiser added 17 for Crawford (11-8, 6-2).
San Diego 62, Hoover 39--Denise Nolfi scored 24 points to lead San Diego which led 33-19 at the half. Melanie Cavey scored 14, and Roya Bruce added 10 for San Diego (5-10, 4-3). Sheneal Mimes scored 18 points for Hoover (1-14, 0-6).
Our Lady of Peace 47, Christian 17--Tammy Tavmarie scored 14 points to lead Our Lady of Peace (9-13, 5-2) at Christian (7-10, 2-4). OLP held Christian scoreless in the second period.
GROSSMONT
Monte Vista 61, Mount Miguel 27--Melissa Smith, the county’s seventh leading scorer, had 21 points to lead host Monte Vista. Monte Vista (14-6, 9-3) also got 11 points from Danise Myers. Monte Vista led 27-16 at the half and outscored Mount Miguel (2-18, 1-12) 20-0 in the third quarter.
