Affirmative Action
Over the last weeks we’ve all seen the taped footage of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame awards show (“Rocking and Rolling Into the Hall of Fame,†by Robert Hilburn, Jan. 22).
We’d like to know what could possibly qualify Paul Shaffer (of “Late Night With David Lettermanâ€) for being on the same stage as Dylan, Springsteen, Jagger, et al., during the show’s finale?
Did the stage have some kind of weight requirement and the addition of Shaffer met the quota, or did the producers need a balding musician who was not wearing a baseball cap to round out the picture?
