Dennis Thurman, 31, a former National Football League defensive back with Dallas and St. Louis, has been named defensive secondary coach for the Cardinals, Coach Gene Stallings said.

Thurman, a former USC player, was with Dallas when Stallings was defensive secondary coach there. He rejoined Stallings in St. Louis when the Cardinals claimed him on waivers from Dallas before the 1986 season.
