Carolco Pictures said its 49%-owned subsidiary, Lieberman Enterprises, has agreed to acquire Vista Organization, a New York-based independent film and television producer. Lieberman is to swap 1.7 million newly issued shares of stock valued at about $25 million and $30 million of new Lieberman preferred stock for Vista. Los Angeles-based Carolco also said it has called off a plan to buy all the remaining shares of Lieberman because of the October stock market crash but added that it intends to make another offer for the rest of Lieberman’s stock “as soon as practicable and subject to financing.†Lieberman is a national distributor of prerecorded music and videocassettes.
