My roommates and I watch a lot...
My roommates and I watch a lot of late-night TV. We’ve noticed that the commercials on suicide, drugs, AIDS, birth control, etc., are aired late at night, but rarely during the day. We realize the people who put out those commercials don’t pay the television stations a lot of money, but those ads aren’t reaching the right people. The kids and their parents that those important messages must reach are most likely asleep when they are aired. We propose that an effort be made to air the commercials, at least occasionally, on prime-time TV, especially during programs with the most “kid (and teen) appeal.â€
