Pacific 10 Roundup : Huskies Beat Beavers for First Conference Win

Mark West came off the bench to score 11 of his 18 points in the second half as Washington turned back Oregon State, 63-59, Thursday night at Seattle for its first Pacific 10 victory of the season.
West also fed Mike Hayward, who had 17 points, for a layup that gave Washington (4-10 overall, 1-5 in the Pac-10) the lead for good, 50-49, with 8:12 left.
Eldridge Recasner followed Hayward’s basket with four free throws, and West added two, giving the Huskies a 56-49 lead with 4:38 left.
Earl Martin scored 16 points for Oregon State (9-5, 3-2).
Oregon 67, Washington State 46--Anthony Taylor had 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Ducks past the Cougars at Pullman, Wash.
The Ducks (8-6, 3-2) took command with a 12-1 surge for a 30-17 lead late in the first half.
Brian Wright scored 17 points for Washington State (3-3, 6-7).
