Man, 84, Killed at Trolley Station

An 84-year-old San Jose man was killed in South San Diego Wednesday when he attempted to cross the tracks of the San Diego Trolley and was struck by a northbound trolley, authorities said.
The victim, Lino Caspice Gonzales, a retired teacher who was visiting a son in San Diego, was declared dead at the scene at 2:55 p.m., according to the coroner’s office. The accident occurred at the Iris Avenue trolley station, police said.
San Diego police are investigating the incident.
