Local News in Brief : Replica Gun, Alcohol Laws Passed
- Share via
Two new public health and safety ordinances have been enacted by the Lawndale City Council. One prohibits the sale or brandishing of replica firearms. The law does not apply to toy guns that because of their color, size or design could not be mistaken for real weapons.
The other ordinance requires the posting of signs warning of the dangers of consuming alcohol during pregnancy. The notices are to be displayed where alcohol is sold, including liquor stores, bars and restaurants.
The ordinances were given final approval Thursday and will go into effect in 30 days.
