Man Runs in Front of RTD Bus, Is Killed

A Southern California Rapid Transit District bus struck and killed a pedestrian Friday, authorities said.
Alvardo Luna ran out in front of the bus at Virgil Avenue and Monroe Street at 6:55 p.m., Police Officer Cynthia Woods said. “Apparently, it was not the driver’s fault,” Woods said. Luna was taken to County-USC Medical Center, where he died, she said.
“According to witnesses’ reports, Luna ran into the street nowhere near a crosswalk,” RTD spokesman Greg Davy said.
