Byron C. Campbell, the former publisher of the Daily News in Van Nuys, has been appointed publisher of the Record, a 161,000-circulation newspaper in Hackensack, N.J.
Campbell, 53, also was appointed president of the the publishing division of Macromedia Inc., the company that owns the Record. A 28-year newspaper industry veteran, Campbell quit his job at the 153,000-circulation Daily News last March following “a difference in management style†with the newspaper’s owner Jack Kent Cooke.
