Local News in Brief : Fullerton : Grant Fuels Cal State Team-Teaching Project
A $43,500 grant from the U. S. Department of Education is funding a new team-teaching, interdisciplinary program at Cal State Fullerton.
Seven team members from various departments will join the program. Their different backgrounds will give more overall substance to a particular class, university officials said.
For example, a team might teach an international economics class, said Maryanna C. Lanier, an associate professor of economics and a coordinator of the project. She said students could learn about the cultural and historical concerns of foreign nations through presentations by faculty with expertise in those areas.
The initial seven-member teaching team is composed of professors in economics, history, political science, Afro-ethnic studies, counseling, management and religious studies.
