Storms in Egypt Leave 16 Dead

CAIRO — Unusually heavy thunderstorms triggered flash floods and traffic accidents that killed 16 people, including 13 soccer players who drowned in a bus crash, police and newspapers reported Thursday.
Government weather experts described the storms as Egypt’s worst in five years.
Nearly 40 people were injured in the downpours.
Egypt’s main port of Alexandria, closed for three days, was reopened Thursday after weather conditions improved.
