A 19-year-old Newhall man was killed Tuesday when a pickup truck swerved across San Fernando Road and into his car, the California Highway Patrol said.
The pickup, driven by Timothy Martinsen, 26, of Lancaster, was traveling south on San Fernando Road when it crossed the double line south of Circle J Ranch Road about 8:30 a.m., Officer Bill Burdick said.
Martinsen’s truck sideswiped a car driven by Charles Hakes, 70, of Canyon Country, then hit the driver’s side of the car driven by the Newhall man, Burdick said.
The man died about 25 minutes later at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia. His name was not released pending notification of relatives.
Martinsen and Hakes were not injured. No charge had been filed.
