Vendors With Short Intention Span Wanted
If you’ve got an idea for a shop that would go great in a major mall but don’t want to invest heavily in fixtures or sign for a long-term lease, the Beverly Center, 8500 Beverly Blvd., is looking for you.
Retailers with new ideas can try them out with a six- to 18-month lease in the Fast Lane, a new section located on the center’s top floor.
Larry Beerman, the center’s general manager, said the shops contain built-in fixtures.
Decor in the 16,000-square-foot Fast Lane includes a 1972 850-Fiat Spider sports car, a 1987 Honda VFR-700 Interceptor motorcycle and racing bicycles on a winding roadway hanging upside down from the ceiling.
The idea is to give shoppers the feeling that by looking up, they’re really looking down.
