Police Arrest 6 Drivers at Checkpoint
Six drivers were arrested on suspicion of drunk driving Friday night and Saturday morning in Anaheim’s first sobriety checkpoint of the season, Anaheim police said.
More than 1,300 drivers passed through the checkpoint between 9 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. Saturday, Sgt. Ron Lovejoy said. The checkpoint was in the 2700 block of West Lincoln Avenue. Lt. Jack Parra said the checkpoint’s “success is hard to measure in terms of numbers. The bottom line is it’s just a matter of getting the word out to the community, letting them know that law enforcement in Anaheim is taking a active stance.â€
Another checkpoint was to be held late Saturday night.
