Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc., headquartered in New York, has formed an office of the chairman consisting of Frank J. Tasco, chairman and chief executive; A. J. C. Smith, president, and Robert J. Newhouse Jr. Newhouse will be elected vice chairman at the next regularly scheduled board meeting in January. Robert Clements will succeed Newhouse as chairman of Marsh & McLennan Inc., the company’s insurance broker subsidiary.
