Americans’ Reasons to Celebrate

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — Americans celebrate an average of 12 times a year, according to a survey conducted for the Florists’ Transworld Delivery Assn.
The poll says that Americans cite more than 50 different reasons to celebrate and that two out of every three Americans are likely to send flowers as part of any celebration.
Leading the list are Christmas, birthdays and family reunions. Others are anniversaries, meeting old friends and personal achievements.
Some of the other reasons mentioned: getting a divorce, the changing of the seasons, the success of a favorite sports team and “just feeling good.”
