Amy Carter Won’t Return to Brown U., May Move to South
PROVIDENCE — Amy Carter says she does not plan to return to Brown University to complete her education, although she attended an anti-CIA rally on campus this week.
Carter, 19, said Tuesday that she’s been living in Providence and working in Boston, 51 miles away, since being asked to leave Brown this summer for neglecting her studies in favor of political activism. She did not specify where she is working.
“I think I want to go to a more Southern school,†Carter said. She said she has not chosen a new school yet and plans to take the rest of the year off from classes.
Carter denied reports that she was expelled or dismissed from Brown.
“They told me to take a semester off,†she said. “I wasn’t expelled. I don’t have to reapply . . . to get back in.â€
