TEL AVIV — A young Palestinian woman from Jerusalem has been praised by Israeli police for defusing a bomb at a bus station, the daily newspaper Maariv reported Monday.
The 22-year-old woman, whose name was not given, initially was suspected of having planted the bomb herself at the bus station in Hadera, north of Tel Aviv, several days ago.
After the device was discovered by an Israeli man, several hundred people left the bus station quickly, but the woman stayed and ripped out wires connecting the device with a clock.
She received an honorary certificate from the district police chief, Maariv said.
