South Bay developer Dr. Harold Cozen has been awarded the second annual Golden Achievement Award by Placentia’s redevelopment agency for a $2.5-million, 38,824-square foot commercial project at 300 E. Orangethorpe Ave., Placentia.
Orangethorpe Commercenter is 60% leased with a video rental store, a fast-food restaurant, a cleaners and a gymnasium, among other tenants, Cozen said. The architect was James R. Harris, Newport Beach, and CommerceBank, Newport Beach, provided interim financing.
Making the project work involved a general plan amendment, rezoning, consolidating four parcels into one and working with Bill Langston of Snyder-Langston Inc., Irvine, the general contractors, Cozen said.
