Prisoner Drowns Trying to Escape Through Drain

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A man trying to escape from prison by crawling through a drainage culvert drowned after a night of heavy rain, officials said. The body of the inmate, who had been serving time for second-degree murder, was recovered Friday.
