Saddlepeak Trail, a recently completed link in the 62-mile Backbone Trail system through the Santa Monica Mountains, will be dedicated at 11 a.m. next Saturday at a point on Pium Road about two miles east of its junction with Malibu Canyon Road.
The new link will open about 500 acres of undeveloped land that previously was largely inaccessible to the public.
A grant from the Santa Monica Conservancy provided funds for the surveying and construction of the trail.
