Arlotto Leads CSUN to Basketball Win

Julie Arlotto scored 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Cal State Northridge women’s basketball team to a 60-49 victory over Azusa Pacific in its season opener Tuesday night at CSUN.
Arlotto, a freshman from Simi Valley High who was making her college debut, hit only 6 of 17 field-goal attempts but made 12 of 12 free throws.
The Lady Matadors trailed for most of the game, but tied the score, 39-39, with 8:17 left, then went ahead on a three-point play by Vicki Mallett the next time down the floor.
Mallett added 10 points for Northridge.
