Lewis, Middlebrooks Lead Pepperdine Comeback

Tom Lewis made a strong debut with Pepperdine Tuesday night, and teammate Levy Middlebrooks was even stronger as they led the Waves to an 87-81 victory over the Bulgarian national team at Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu.
Lewis, a sophomore forward who sat out last season after transferring from USC, scored 28 points. Middlebrooks added 25 points and grabbed a game-high 21 rebounds.
Bulgaria led at halftime, 46-44, and was ahead for most of the game until Pepperdine surged in the last 10 minutes.
