ABT’s Arts Center Offerings Told

Casting for American Ballet Theatre’s two-week engagement at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa, opening Dec. 1, was announced by the company on Monday.
Works scheduled will include Kenneth MacMillan’s “The Sleeping Beauty,” plus a first performance of Clark Tippet’s “Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1,” set to Bruch’s familiar Concerto in G minor, and a revival of Antony Tudor’s “Gala Performance,” created in 1938 to music by Prokofiev.
ABT’s Orange County engagement will feature several principal dancers making their first appearances in various roles.
On Dec. 5, Wes Chapman will dance Prince Desire at the matinee of “The Sleeping Beauty.” Alessandra Ferri will appear as Princess Florine in “The Sleeping Beauty” at the Dec. 5 evening performance. Ricardo Bustamante will appear in the “Raymonda” Grand Pas Classique on Dec. 13.
