In line with a $3-billion allotment for national expansion of its Courtyard hotels, Marriott has additional Courtyard hotels under construction in Southern California, in Torrance, Palm Springs and Bakersfield.
Marriott plans to open a total of 12 to 14 Courtyard hotels in the area over the next three to five years. Hotels are open at 2000 E. Mariposa Ave., El Segundo, near Los Angeles International Airport; at Gatty Avenue and South Harbor Boulevard in Santa Ana, and at Beach Boulevard and the Artesia (91) Freeway in Buena Park.
The Torrance and Palm Springs Courtyard hotels will each have 149 rooms; the Torrance facility room rates will average in the high $60s on weekdays and high $40s on weekends; the Palm Springs hotel’s daily rates will average in the high $60s.
Also in Southern California, a Courtyard hotel is open in Fresno and another is under construction in Bakersfield and is scheduled to open next February. Future Courtyard sites are owned in Hacienda Heights and in the Mira Mesa area of San Diego.
