Local News in Brief : Fountain Valley : Lone Holdup Man Escapes With Cash
A lone man dressed in a western-style shirt held up a Home Savings of America branch on Brookhurst Street on Wednesday afternoon and escaped with an undetermined amount of cash, authorities said.
The man entered the bank branch in the 18900 block of Brookhurst at 3:50 p.m., police said.
He “never showed a gun, but said he had one,†Sgt. Jim Brokaw said.
Brokaw said the bank robber gave a teller a threatening note “asking for all the money,†then fled on foot.
The suspect was described as being white, in his 20s, about six feet tall, of slim build and dressed in blue jeans and a western shirt, Brokaw said.
