Fullerton’s Lewis to Sign With USD

Alan Lewis, a 6-foot 8-inch senior forward at Fullerton High School, has made an oral commitment to attend the University of San Diego and said he will sign a national letter of intent with the Toreros today.
Lewis, 17, averaged 13.5 points and 10.3 rebounds for Fullerton last year. The Indians won the Freeway League title last season but were eliminated in the league’s postseason tournament. Lewis missed the tournament with chicken pox.
He visited the University of San Francisco, Gonzaga and San Diego--all members of the West Coast Athletic Conference--before deciding on USD. Lewis, who has a 3.2 grade-point average at Fullerton, will major in business at San Diego.
“I think Alan’s stock really went up at the Superstar Camp last summer in Santa Barbara,” said Randy Forgette, Fullerton coach. “He played on the winning team in the camp and really opened some eyes.”
