VETERANS DAY: WHAT’S OPEN AND CLOSED

Today marks the celebration of Veterans Day.
Closed: All government offices, courts, banks, libraries and post offices. Schools in Beverly Hills, Claremont, Gorman, Palmdale and Redondo Beach.
Open: Stock and commodity exchanges and many businesses. Rapid Transit District buses will follow daily schedules.
Closed Friday: School districts of Bellflower, Castaic, La Canada, Newhall, Santa Monica, South Pasadena, El Rancho (in Pico Rivera) and William S. Hart (in Newhall).
Celebrations:
The Veterans Administration Medical Center will honor former Marines who survived the 1950 battle of the Chosin Reservoir in the North Korean mountains, 10:30 a.m., Wadsworth VA Medical Center, 11000 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles.
The 28th annual West Coast Sacred Torch Ceremony, 11 a.m., Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles. Assembly Republican Leader Pat Nolan will speak.
Comedy performance to benefit the Vietnam Veterans Aid Foundation, 8:30 p.m., Comedy Store, 8433 W. Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood.
