Peter Sellars, who takes over as director of the Los Angeles Festival next month, has withdrawn from directing a triple-bill program at the Metropolitan Opera next season, claiming a scheduling conflict with his new duties here. Sellars, currently directing a production of “Zangezi” for the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Next Wave Festival, said, “There really was no disagreement. I have too many things to do (for the festival) and I’m trying to set priorities.”
