PerfectData Loses $43,000, Sales Slump in 2nd Quarter

PerfectData Corp. reported a narrower loss for the second quarter ended Sept. 30 on a 6% drop in sales. For the quarter, the Chatsworth concern’s net loss was $43,000, or 1 cent per share, versus a loss of $174,000, or 5 cents per share, in the same period a year earlier. Sales for the quarter were $996,000, compared to $1,058,000 last year.
Over six months the company reported a net loss of $193,000, or 6 cents per share, versus a loss of $463,000, or 14 cents per share, in the same period last year. Sales for the six months declined 4% to $1,956,000.
The company sells computer maintenance supplies. The company attributed its sales drop to various lines of equipment it no longer sells.
