British Olympic athlete David Jenkins will stand trial March 15 in San Diego on U.S. government charges that he masterminded a $70 million-a-year black market in body-building anabolic steroids, smuggling them from Mexico and distributing them throughout the country.
Jenkins, who was the European 400-meter champion in 1971 and won a silver medal in the 1972 Munich Olympic Games, could be sentenced to up to 60 years in prison if convicted on all counts against him.
