Sunny Hills Advances in 3-A Volleyball

Sunny Hills High School advanced to the first round of the Southern Section 3-A volleyball playoffs, defeating El Modena, 9-15, 15-9, 15-7, 15-12, in a wild-card game at El Modena High School Tuesday.
The Lancers, who finished third in the Freeway League with a 6-4 record, were led by Marissa Hatchett who had 19 kills and 7 blocks. Wendy Barnett added 11 kills.
Sunny Hills will meet Rim of the World (14-0), the first-place of the San Andreas League, Thursday at the Lake Arrowhead school.
