Local News in Brief : Rocks and Mud Block Road Near Simi Valley
A mud slide blocked a mountain road near Simi Valley for several hours Sunday, authorities said.
Northbound traffic on Box Canyon Road just south of Studio Road was blocked from 10 a.m. until early afternoon, said Officer Bill Burdick of the California Highway Patrol.
Rocks and mud, which Burdick said slid down a hillside because of the rain, were removed from the road by a Ventura County road maintenance crew.
