Los Angeles Students Speak Out on the Year-Round School Plan
I am not totally against the year-round school plan, but I face one giant problem--a part-time summer job. I am in eighth grade and by the time I am in 10th grade and legally eligible for a job, I can’t work. My parents will not let me work during school, so summer is my only chance. I know this is not the most important opposing issue against year-round schools, but it’s the most important to me and some of my peers. The school board should think about this topic.
