Vince Boryla resigned as president and general manager of the Denver Nuggets, and team owner Sidney Shlenker announced Pete Babcock would replace him.
Shlenker said Boryla, who joined the Nuggets in 1984, will remain with the team under a long-term consulting agreement. After joining the Nuggets, Boryla, 60, immediately engineered a trade that brought Calvin Natt, Wayne Cooper and Lafayette Lever to Denver and played a major role in the Nuggets’ 1984-85 Midwest Division championship.
