The Tate Gallery in London will receive a $2.48-million gift from Nomura Securities Co. Ltd., a Japanese investment bank, to build a new gallery. The new gallery will be built in a courtyard adjoining the 90-year-old main gallery building on the banks of the Thames and will open in early 1990, said Tate director Alan Bowness.
